Build your own version of Wishbox
Collect product ideas in one public place. Visitors can search, filter, and sort ideas by votes or trend, while signed-in users post ideas, vote once per idea, and comment. A public roadmap shows planned, in-progress, and completed work, and an admin workspace manages statuses, tags, moderation, and duplicate merging. Built with Layerwise, React, and TanStack Start.
Use Wishbox to give customers one public place to suggest features, vote on ideas, and follow what you are building. It also works for a community or an internal team that collects requests.
What the template includes
- A public feedback board with search, tags, status filters, voting, and sorting.
- Idea pages with comments, plus a public planned, in-progress, and completed roadmap.
- An admin workspace for statuses, tags, moderation, and merging duplicate ideas.
The template opens as a local project you can change through the conversation or the code editor. You can inspect the source for this template version before choosing how to extend it.
Copy it and make one useful change
- Install Layerwise and sign in. Choose Use this template, select a team and project name in the app, then choose Copy to Layerwise. Wait for setup and the local preview to finish.
- Decide who the board is for and what counts as an idea before changing the layout. Create the tags your team will use, and keep one vote per person so the rankings stay meaningful.
- Ask for the change in the project conversation. This prompt is a starting point; adjust it to describe your intended result.
Starter prompt Adapt this feedback board for a mobile app. Add a platform field with iOS, Android, and Web options, show it on each idea, and let visitors filter the board by platform. Keep voting, comments, the roadmap, and admin moderation working, and check the board at phone width.
Check the result before publishing
- Sign in, post an idea, and vote on it; voting again should not add a second vote.
- As an admin, change the idea’s status and confirm it moves to the matching roadmap column.
- Merge two duplicate ideas and confirm their votes and comments appear on the remaining idea.
Sign-up does not grant the admin role. After publishing, set your account’s role to admin in the project database. Email notifications and external integrations are not included.
Use the local preview controls to test the affected path. When it works, publish a release and repeat the check at the live URL. For saved records or accounts, read about the separate Local and Online databases.
