# Layerwise > Build full-stack web apps with AI on your computer. Keep your source code, preview changes locally, and publish with built-in database and authentication. Layerwise is an AI app builder that runs on your computer. You describe a web app in chat, the assistant edits real project files in a local workspace, and you preview the app before publishing it to a `*.layerwise.site` address or a custom domain. Every project includes a database, email-based authentication, analytics, and backend logs. The source code stays in a local workspace that you can edit, export, or connect to a GitHub repository. ## Product - [Home](https://layerwise.app/): Overview of the Layerwise AI app builder - [Pricing](https://layerwise.app/pricing): Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans - [Download](https://layerwise.app/download): Desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux - [Templates](https://layerwise.app/templates): Starter apps you can open in Layerwise - [AI website builder](https://layerwise.app/ai-website-builder): Build and publish a website with a real backend - [Vibe coding](https://layerwise.app/vibe-coding): Build full-stack web apps by chat - [Security](https://layerwise.app/security): How Layerwise protects projects and data ## Documentation - [Welcome to Layerwise](https://layerwise.app/docs.md): Understand the Layerwise workflow, from an idea to a live full-stack web app. - [Manage your account and GitHub](https://layerwise.app/docs/account/account-and-github.md): Connect GitHub for project repositories and manage account deletion. - [Manage billing and usage](https://layerwise.app/docs/account/billing-and-usage.md): Review your team's plan, credits, costs, and invoices. - [Approvals and file changes](https://layerwise.app/docs/build-your-app/approvals-and-changes.md): Choose what the agent can do without asking, respond to approval requests, and review the files each turn changed. - [Build and preview a project](https://layerwise.app/docs/build-your-app/chat-and-preview.md): Make changes through the project conversation, point to parts of the page, and verify the result in the local preview. - [Work with project code](https://layerwise.app/docs/build-your-app/code-and-github.md): Edit the local workspace, export it, or create a connected GitHub repository. - [Direct the agent](https://layerwise.app/docs/build-your-app/direct-the-agent.md): Plan before building, set a goal for longer work, queue follow-up requests, stop a turn, and answer the agent's questions. - [Skills and MCP servers](https://layerwise.app/docs/build-your-app/skills-and-mcp.md): Teach the agent your conventions with skills, and connect tools from other services through MCP servers. - [Analytics](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/analytics.md): Understand your published website's traffic, receive scheduled email reports, and export filtered results. - [Authentication](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/authentication.md): Every project ships with built-in email authentication and delivery — no auth provider or email service to set up. - [Connect a custom domain](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/custom-domains.md): Point a hostname at a published Layerwise project and verify DNS. - [Database](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/database.md): Every project ships with a built-in production database — no third-party service to set up. - [Logs](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/logs.md): Inspect local and published backend logs, follow requests live, and export logs for debugging. - [Publish a project](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/publish.md): Deploy the current local workspace as a production release. - [Manage releases](https://layerwise.app/docs/deploy/release-history.md): Inspect deployed releases, retry a failed deployment, and roll back safely. - [Prompting for a useful first version](https://layerwise.app/docs/getting-started/prompting.md): Give Layerwise enough product context to produce a testable first project. - [Quick start](https://layerwise.app/docs/getting-started/quickstart.md): Create a project, make a change, and publish a working version. - [Troubleshooting](https://layerwise.app/docs/reference/troubleshooting.md): Recover from common problems in the Layerwise workflow. - [Find and organize projects](https://layerwise.app/docs/workspace/projects.md): Navigate a team's project list and return to the work that matters. - [Manage teams and members](https://layerwise.app/docs/workspace/teams-and-members.md): Organize projects into teams and give collaborators the right access. ## Blog - [Layerwise vs Bolt](https://layerwise.app/blog/layerwise-vs-bolt): Layerwise vs Bolt: compare model choice, tokens and credits, local files, backend services, analytics, and pricing to pick the right AI app builder. - [Layerwise vs Replit](https://layerwise.app/blog/layerwise-vs-replit): Compare Layerwise vs Replit on model choice, AI pricing, local files, hosting credits, and app types.
