Prompt
Also called AI prompt or prompting
The instruction you give an AI model. In AI coding tools, the prompt describes what to build or change, and its detail shapes the result.
Build a landing page for a dog-walking service in Austin. Use a friendly green palette, a hero with the headline "Happy dogs, daily walks," three pricing cards, and a Book a walk button that opens a booking form. Make it work well on phones.
Paste into Layerwise or any AI coding tool.
What is Prompt?
A prompt is the message you type to an AI model. In an AI coding tool, it describes the app or the change you want: what it should do, who it is for, and how it should look.
Specific prompts get specific results. "Make a landing page" leaves every choice to the model, so you get something generic. Naming the audience, the main action, the colors, and the content gives the model what it needs to build what you pictured.
Ask for one outcome per message, describe what you see when something is wrong ("The Save button does nothing on mobile"), and mention constraints that matter, such as "keep the existing table." For visual changes, a screenshot or a selected element often explains more than a paragraph.
